Around 150 final-year students at Gray’s bring four years of work to public view
When: Friday 5 June – Sunday 14 June 2026
Where: Gray’s School of Art, Garthdee Road
Tickets: Free, no booking required.
This year’s Gray’s Degree Show is the 60th annual edition, part of the school’s 140th anniversary year, which has already seen Gray’s School of Art: 140 Years at Aberdeen Art Gallery.
Around 150 students will exhibit work developed over their time at Gray’s across fine art, fashion and textiles, communication design, product design, and ceramics and jewellery. Fine art student Aisla Spence says the show represents “the culmination of my work” and that she is looking forward to it as “the final results of our collective development and practice is showcased.” She adds that her time at Gray’s has been integral to the evolution of her photography practice.
Open to everyone
Professor Dan Allen, Dean of Gray’s, describes the show as “a celebration open to everyone in Aberdeen, and throughout Scotland.” Many of the works and products on display will be available to buy.
The first show was held in June 1966 at the Michael Shewan-designed building on Garthdee Road, and its orange, black and yellow invitation was designed by Donald Addison, who worked at the school and is best known for creating Aberdeen FC’s iconic goalmouth crest. The graphics for 2026 draw on those same colours.
Getting there
The opening night on Friday 5 June runs from 7pm to 10pm and is open to the public. The show runs daily from Saturday 6 June to Sunday 14 June, 10am to 7.30pm on weekdays and 10am to 5pm at weekends. Admission is free throughout. Gray’s sits on RGU’s Garthdee campus on the south side of the city, on the banks of the Dee.
