Lawrence Chaney is known for taking jabs at others. Now the tables have turned. In his brand-new solo stand-up show Weight a Minute, the Scottish drag star takes aim at himself, covering weight loss, dating and current affairs with zero shame and even less filter.

Chaney made history as the first Scottish winner and first plus-size winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, a victory that led to his own television series, Tartan Around with Lawrence Chaney, broadcast on BBC Three.

Since the win, Chaney has written a book and become the face of Irn-Bru, alongside appearances on The Great British Sewing Bee, Celebrity Gogglebox, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and The Wheel. In 2021, he picked up a BAFTA for Best Scot on Screen.

Promoter Doug Taylor of Mint of Montrose is backing the tour: “Lawrence’s shows are some of our favourite big laugh theatre nights out and always huge fun.” Sounds like another big night in Aberdeen for comedy fans.
