Peacock Celebrates 50th Year with Striking Art Projection Event
Artist David Bellingham helps mark the anniversary with light installations linking past and future.

As Peacock wraps up its 50th anniversary, it’s marking the occasion with an event to intrigue anyone interested in Aberdeen’s arts scene. On Friday, 4th April, artist David Bellingham is bringing his latest project, A Light From The Past Projected Into The Future, to life in the city centre.
From 8pm, you can catch a one-hour projection from the bridge on Rosemount Viaduct. The work will illuminate the side of a nearby building, creating a striking visual experience that will be both temporary and memorable. If you’re there, you may receive a mini print as a keepsake to commemorate the evening.
Bellingham is known for his playful exploration of language and objects, blurring boundaries between words and visual art. Over the past year, he’s collaborated closely with Peacock’s print studio team, creating a series of thoughtful artworks, printed pieces, and unique ephemera. You may have encountered these small-scale creations in your mailbox or at local events. This projection is the culmination of this creative journey.
After the projection, the celebration continues from 9pm at Bonne Nuit, located at Golden Square, offering a chance to chat with the artist, Peacock staff, and other folk in a relaxed atmosphere.

Over the past 50 years, Peacock has been a vital part of Aberdeen’s artistic community. Based off The Castlegate, they offer facilities and training in a wide range of printmaking techniques. The organisation hosts exhibitions across two dedicated gallery spaces—The Worm at Castlegate and The Print Room on Union Street—showcasing contemporary artworks alongside historical pieces and highlighting the city’s rich printmaking heritage.
This final anniversary event is a thoughtful celebration of Peacock’s half-century of supporting creativity, education, and innovation in Aberdeen. We’ll be covering the event, so pop past and say hi. You don’t want to miss this one.
