Out and About Bill Bailey Brings Vaudeville Back to Aberdeen

Bill Bailey’s shows have always been a bit of everything. Comedy, music, stories that go sideways. He’ll play a few instruments, tell you something odd he noticed, maybe slip into a different language. It’s variety entertainment, and he’s leaning into that with his new tour.

Vaudevillean arrives at P&J Live on 6 December 2026. He ran it in New Zealand this autumn before booking UK arenas for next winter.

Songs, comedy, whatever else fits

The show takes its name from the old variety circuit where different acts shared a stage to keep audiences entertained. Bailey’s always worked that way anyway. He plays multiple instruments, speaks several languages, and switches between musical comedy and observational stuff without signposting the change.

It’s the kind of range that made variety shows work before anyone had other options for entertainment. Bailey updates the format for someone who’s also won Strictly Come Dancing.
