Out and About African Creative Soirée Comes to Aberdeen
A celebration of African creativity and entrepreneurship arrives in the city this December.
When: Saturday 13 December 2025, 1pm
Where: Ferryhill Community Centre
How much: Free entry
Aberdeen’s African creative community is hosting a soirée this December, bringing together vendors, artists and entrepreneurs from across the north-east.
Organised by Oluwakemi, who founded Aberdeen’s first African Tradefair earlier this year, the event will feature a marketplace of African vendors alongside live cultural showcases, interactive creative experiences and community networking.
The marketplace will include African fashion, beauty products, crafts, home décor and lifestyle goods. Previous events organised by Oluwakemi have attracted over 300 participants and 17 vendors, including a webinar with African business coach Paul Foh.

“This event is more than a marketplace. It’s a celebration of culture, identity and community,” said Oluwakemi. “Aberdeen is becoming home to talented African creatives and businesses, and this event gives them a platform to shine.”
The event aims to support African and Black-owned businesses whilst promoting cultural diversity and creating networking opportunities for creatives and entrepreneurs across the city.
Local residents, families, students and businesses are welcome to attend. Vendor applications and sponsorship opportunities are still open. More information available on the Afrocreative Exchange instagram page.
