NEOS 2024 Invites You to Explore Art Across the North East
NEOS brings artists and art lovers together across the North East, celebrating artistic practice.
North East Open Studios is back this September, ready to turn the North East into a creative playground. From 7th - 15th September, artists and makers will open their doors, inviting you to step inside their studios, explore their artistic worlds, and discover everything from vibrant paintings and ceramics to intricate jewellery, textiles, woodwork, and sculptures.
Founded in 2003 by a small group of local creatives, NEOS has become a celebrated event on the North East’s cultural calendar. It's a platform for and by the region’s talented artists and creatives. NEOS lets you connect directly with creators, learn about their processes, and find unique pieces that speak to you.
At POST, we always look forward to NEOS. Each year brings a fresh chance to uncover new talents, connect with familiar faces, and be surprised by the creativity flourishing in our region. There's always something new to discover — a hidden studio, a unique piece, or an unexpected artistic process that captures the imagination.
This year’s event promises to be as vibrant as ever. The hard work of dedicated volunteers ensures that NEOS remains a welcoming and accessible celebration of art. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, NEOS provides an open invitation to engage with the creative community and support local artists.
To help plan your visits, the NEOS 2024 Book is available in print and digital formats, offering a comprehensive guide to all participating artists, locations, and contact details. The NEOS App also provides location maps and showcases galleries to explore.
Whether you're looking for inspiration, a special piece of art, or a deeper understanding of the creative process, NEOS 2024 has something for everyone.
Who can you visit here in Aberdeen?
We've put together a list of studios that you can visit in Aberdeen over the 8 days of NEOS. Don't forget to check the address and opening times before you turn up. These are working studios, and most people still have to make a living during the festival.
