Four Magicians Cast Spell with Audiences Winning National Award
Aberdeen magic team win top UK magic award by blending captivating illusions, humour, and creativity.
Aberdeen’s Four Magicians are taking the UK magic scene by storm, winning the prestigious Magic Seats Readers’ Award as the four nation’s best magic show. With over 1,000 fans casting their votes, the show snagged 55%, beating out magic heavyweights like Penn & Teller and Britain’s Got Talent winner Richard Jones.
Four Magicians offers a refreshing blend of jaw-dropping illusions, razor-sharp humour, and a healthy dose of personality. The team has built a show that feels both intimate and epic, featuring Eoin Smith, James Dickson, and the charismatic duo Smith & Burns (Ivor Smith and Jeff Burns).
Their 2024 tour wowed audiences across Scotland, with a standout sold-out performance at Aberdeen’s Lemon Tree in October. Eoin Smith says the award means the world because it’s a direct nod from fans. “We’re thrilled that audiences are connecting with the show in the way they are,” he said. Jeff Burns is already teasing what’s next.
We’re not ones to rest on our laurels: we’re already planning more shows across the country for next year and look forward to sharing details soon. This is just the beginning for Four Magicians!
Jeff Burns, The Four Magicians
What makes Four Magicians shine is their ability to combine traditional magic with a modern twist. Minds are read, the laws of nature are casually bent...and the occasional dad joke is slipped in.
Each magician adds something unique. Eoin Smith’s quick wit and use of everyday items leave audiences wowed. James Dickson’s artful approach transforms illusions into mesmerising creations. Meanwhile, Smith & Burns, seasoned globetrotters, bring a polished mix of hilarity and precision honed on stages from Las Vegas to Hollywood’s Magic Castle.
With ambitious plans for 2025, Four Magicians is just getting started. Building on their success, they’re set to bring their unique brand of magic to new stages and audiences across the UK.
