Nuart Aberdeen is set to bring its vibrant street art festival back to the city from 6th to 9th June.
Renowned and emerging street artists from around the world are being lined up to show off their talents. These include large-scale murals and smaller pieces, recolouring Aberdeen’s walls and spaces.
The festival, which attracts visitors from around the world, adds new colour the city centre. It also leaves a lasting artistic legacy well beyond the event’s duration.
Martyn Reed, who has curated Nuart Aberdeen since it began in 2017, is actively assembling artists for the festival. The theme for 2024 is yet to be revealed, along with the selection of walls in Aberdeen where these artists will showcase their talents. He told us, “I’m absolutely thrilled and honoured to be back in what’s become my second home”
“The team can’t wait to get started on what’s quickly become regarded as one of the country’s leading events of its type. There’s already a buzz from the international street art community and with strong support from our local partners we’re confident we can do the event and city proud.”
The Nuart team will announce complete information about Nuart Aberdeen 2024 in the upcoming weeks. We’re looking forward to hearing which walls will be featured.
I you are eager to experience the thrill of Nuart this summer, you can explore the murals from earlier. The Aberdeen Inspired website hosts a great guide to all the existing artwork.
Kevin Mitchell and Chris Sansbury founded POST. This was from a desire to cut through the noise to share the great things that happen in Aberdeen. They focus on community, culture and also the interesting people of the city. The local artists, businesses and charities; photographers, musicians and entertainers.
These are the people that make a positive impact on our city every day. So they use video, audio, writing and social media to amplify the voices in our community. And to ultimately give a platform to Aberdeen folk to engage and tell their own stories.
We are independent and entirely self funded. We just about cover our costs, but if you would like to help support our work, you could buy us a coffee.
