This month, JB Priestley’s acclaimed thriller An Inspector Calls will take to the stage at His Majesty’s Theatre, bringing its gripping social commentary and tense atmosphere to Aberdeen from Tuesday, March 25 to Saturday, March 29. The play which has captivated audiences for decades, is part of a nationwide tour, promising an unforgettable theatre experience.
An Inspector Calls is a masterclass in suspense and moral questioning, expertly weaving themes of personal responsibility, societal inequalities, and the importance of community. The story unfolds during a dinner party at the prosperous Birling family home, where the arrival of Inspector Goole turns everything upside down. What begins as a calm evening soon becomes a chilling investigation into the tragic death of a young woman, with Goole’s probing revelations challenging the family’s complacency and forcing them to confront uncomfortable truths about themselves.

Tim Treloar steps into the role of the enigmatic Inspector Goole, with a cast including Jackie Morrison as the formidable Mrs Birling, Jeffrey Harmer as the self-assured Mr Birling, and Tom Chapman as Gerald Croft. The younger members of the Birling family will be portrayed by Leona Allen (Sheila Birling), George Rowlands (Eric Birling), and Alice Darling (Edna), with additional performances by Katy Dean, Michael Gukas, Pena Iiyambo, Simon Pothecary, and Philip Stewart.
