Aberdeen's Whisky Week: A Celebration of Scotland's Spirit
Aberdeen's Whisky Week offers a unique distillery tour experience within the city, featuring special whisky menus and events.
An exciting new festival for whisky fans will take over Aberdeen as the Summer moves into Autumn. From 5th - 15th September, city bars will host Aberdeen Whisky Week, spreading the word about the 'water of life'.
This festival, organised by Charlie Bain and Gregor Sey, will celebrate Scotland's national drink, educate people about various whisky brands, and spotlight Aberdeen’s bar scene.
What to expect from Aberdeen Whisky Week
Whisky Week offers a great new format. There’ll be a city-wide distillery tour featuring more than 20 participating venues. The top spots include The Grill, CASC, St Machar Bar, Under the Hammer, and The Howff.
Each venue will partner with a distillery to provide attendees with a rich and diverse whisky experience. Organisers will provide a special guidebook to help attendees navigate the different locations, making it easy to explore the festival. The format gives whisky fans the chance to experience a wide range of distilleries without leaving the city.
The organisers hope to attract a wide audience, from seasoned whisky aficionados to curious locals, and tourists eager to explore Aberdeen's whisky offerings.
Charlie Bain, one of the event organisers, highlighted the uniqueness of Whisky Week, saying, “I think Aberdeen really punches above its weight when it comes to the range of bars and pubs on offer, and I hope that Whisky Week can showcase that to locals and tourists alike.”
Events to educate and entertain
In addition to whisky tastings, the festival will include events designed to educate and entertain. You'll be able to join masterclasses and tasting sessions, meeting distillers and industry experts along the way. It'll give you valuable insights into the world of whisky, from production methods to tasting techniques.
"Aberdeen Whisky Week is a welcome addition to the city’s events calendar...We've got a few things up our sleeve and Whisky Week will be an ideal opportunity to reveal some exciting plans"
Julie Marples - The Grill
By bringing together distilleries and local venues, the festival aims to create a community of whisky lovers who appreciate the history, tradition, and innovation behind every dram.
